The scorching sun stood still in the clear blue sky. It was almost noon. People were walking up and down the pavements of either sides of the road. They looked dragged and exhausted - " probably after a long day's work ! " I thought . I got into the bus , on my way to college. This time the things were not the same. Many men and women inside the bus were fastened in their own land of dreams. Some were gazing out from the window at the vehicles moving one after the other , keeping to the order with much discipline. Thus a rare array in a country like ours. The bus was in total silence . The only sound to be heard was the music played. It said ,
" Atheethaya sihinayak pamanai
Saba suwandak na
Eda senehen nobandunanam
Meda wiyowak na "
I remember , I was only seven years when I heard this song for the first time, voiced by Divulgane . No doubt that I couldn't grasp its words . For it, I was too young but I did love its music! , and today I know what Divulgane was trying to bring about.
We laugh today and cry the other day. We live once happily but get wounded in pain again. We are unborn young and demise unplanned. The skies may never know when will be the the droughts. For droughts will never know when will it rain and the rains may never know when will the sun rise again. Flowers bloom every morning and decompose as the twilight advents. An able - body now , may undergo afflictions later. Once a sturdy house will get blown another time by a cyclone. A fortnight's utter black out will evade as moon completes its circle , bringing back the full moon's light. People come and people go. They will drift in and out our lives. Sunsets, like childhood we watch it even being adults, much with wonder, not because they are beautiful but because they are fleeting. The same way we would treasure and love more for those who have claimed a part of our lives. Yet we fail to let go them . We shed tears consequent to our poor insight into impermanence.
Nothing remains eternal in this world . Neither the man nor the flowers , the mountains , political regimes , perceptions , mental formations and consciousness.
This is the law , ancient and inexhaustible that one cannot fight back!
True fact pamodhi.. very well derived. Cheers
